The Real Problem
- Many families and schools in Kathiani continue struggling because of water shortage.
- As population increases, natural springs are becoming overwhelmed and water sources are becoming unreliable.
- This has led to learning disruption, time wastage, health challenges and hygiene challenges.
- Students and parents spend hours searching for water instead of focusing on education and development.
Our Commitment
- Develop solar powered boreholes in schools.
- Improve water access for schools and nearby communities.
- Ensure fair distribution of water projects.
Our Plan for Water Security
- Solar powered boreholes: install boreholes in schools and use solar powered systems for sustainability.
- Community water access: schools become community water centres and nearby communities also benefit.
- Project mapping: conduct mapping to avoid duplication and ensure proper use of public resources.
Five Year Rollout Plan
- 10 boreholes every year.
- Phased implementation across all wards.
- Equal development across Kathiani.
What This Will Do
- Improve learning environment.
- Reduce burden on families.
- Improve sanitation and hygiene.
- Support communities during dry seasons.
- Water creates dignity and opportunity.
Historical Failure
Since the promulgation of the Kenya 2010 Constitution and the birth of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund Act, 2015, very little constituency investment has gone into structured school based water security in Kathiani.
Manifesto Message
No student should suffer because of water.
